ITV’s The Masked Dancer has been entertaining audiences over the last week, as viewers and judges try to figure out who the celebrity is dancing in a ridiculous animal costume.
The spin-off series of The Masked Singer has already seen the likes of Kelly Brook and Craig Revel Horwood revealed as celebrities cutting shape under disguise.
With the final taking place tonight, just what is it that the winner stands to get?
Here is everything you need to know…
What does the winner of The Masked Dancer UK get?
The short answer is: nothing.
Due to the fact that The Masked Dancer is a celebrity competition, the winner does not receive any cash prize.
But they will walk away with a glossy trophy, and you can never underestimate the value of bragging rights.
The US version of the show gave the winner a diamond trophy back in February.
A source from the USA version of the show told Bustle: ‘Each person behind the masks is a celebrity of some kind who presumably has plenty of money and opportunities, so it wouldn’t make sense to give them even more.
‘Some other celebrity competitions ask competitors to each choose a charity to compete on behalf of, and donate any winnings to, but that doesn’t appear to be the case here.’
Who won the US version of The Masked Dancer?
The US version of the show aired in February in the US, with the competition finale revealing the identities of Cotton Candy, Sloth, and Tulip – with Cotton Candy declared the champion.
Tulip was in third place, who was unmasked as Dance Moms star Mackenzie Ziegler.
In second place was Sloth, who was unmasked as Dancing With The Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy. following his performance to The Struts’ cover of ‘Ballroom Blitz’.
But the winner was Cotton Candy, who turned out to be none other than Olympian Gabby Douglas.
Who is in the final of The Masked Dancer UK?
The judging panel still needs to identify the four celebrities behind the costumes of Zip, Scarecrow, Squirrel, and Carwash, with many at-home also trying to piece all the clues together.
Along with Brooks and Harwood, the other celebrities already revealed include radio DJ Zoe Ball, ice skater Christopher Dean, and burlesque performer Dita Von Teese.
When is The Masked Dancer UK final on?
The final is set to air tonight, Saturday, June 5 at 7.30pm on ITV, which means there isn’t long to wait until the final celebrity dancers are unmasked.
This will be the first UK Masked Dancer winner, joining the likes of Nicola Roberts and Joss Stone who won the first two series of The Masked Singer UK.
