Police hunting three men after girl ‘sexually assaulted’ on train

At just after 8pm on Sunday 8 July, a group of teenage girls were travelling back from a day of shopping in Liverpool. While waiting on the platform for the train, a group of men were looking in their direction and winking. Both groups then boarded a train heading to Blackpool North railway station. On the train the men started threatening the group of young girls and sexually assaulted one of them. Officers believe the men in the images may have information which could help their investigation. Police want to speak to these three men after a teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on board a train.  

The images were released yesterday following the attack, said to have happened on a train between Liverpool Lime Street and Blackpool North stations on Sunday July 8, around 8pm.  

The teenager was among a group of girls returning after a day of shopping in Liverpool.  

A group of men began looking in their direction and winking at them while they were waiting on the platform.  

While on the train towards Blackpool North, the men started threatening the girls before one was sexually assaulted, British Transport Police (BTP) said.  

BTP has launched an investigation into the incident.  

Officers believe the three men in the images may have information which could help.
